Snow Day

Where Have I Been // Man, the cold weather hit and I stopped doing my weekly posts but I think it's fair to say that the snow days are officially gone, and spring it just around the corner!  I'm looking forward to nice weather, beautiful outfits, and back to blogging.  But here's to one last memory of the snow days.

On one of many snow days this winter, I decided to get dressed up and have a mini photo shoot with none other than myself!  I was photographer, stylist, make up artist, and model.  And, if you're wondering, yes, it was very cold out.  But, it was well worth it for these shots!

Ballet Hits the Runway || The Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture s/s 2014 show in one word...AMAZING!  Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are the masterminds behind the Amsterdam-based fashion house, Viktor & Rolf, founded in 1993.  The fashion duo, who also makes fragrances, launched new perfume, Bonbon, in a theatrical performance on the runway featuring ballerinas.  This is truly a take on when the arts meet style!

How to Wear Denim at Work

Work Style Denim || In past careers, I've been fortunate enough to be able to wear whatever I want to work.  Working in a creative industry tends to lend itself to a creative style environment.  And I must admit, I love it!  However, in my new career, everyday is a business casual day.  So, this is now how I wear denim at work. #CantStopWontStop

Leanila Style | Biker Jeans

Biker Jeans || Defined, biker jeans are skinny jeans with a bit of flare like the hint of shimmer and ankle zippers on these.  Yes, "biker jeans" is my very own made up term for my lovely skinny jeans.  I loved these jeans so much that when they shrunk on me (because I refuse to believe that I gained weight and outgrew them), I had to run to H&M and desperately find another pair.  I bought Biker Jeans #1 almost two years ago; so, I was a bit surprised to find that they still carried them.  Granted they were a bit darker in color, but nonetheless they were the jeans I was looking for, Biker Jeans #2.  H&M, oh how I love you!

Simple Winter Style

Simplicity. I must admit; I've often struggled with the idea of keeping it simple when it pertains to style.  I love accessories, shoes, designs, layering blazers and scarves.  So, it can become a task for me to dress it down at times.  However, with this outfit, I wanted my statement necklace to stand out.  So, what better way of doing that then adding a few simple pieces to my outfit.

This necklace is a gem that I found at a vintage store while shopping in downtown Reykjavik, Iceland.  I use to shop for souvenirs like fridge magnets, t-shirts, or postcards when I travelled, but now, I love my latest practice of purchasing items that are unique, that I will actually use, and that tell a story; whether it's a decorative piece for the house or clothing/accessories.
